Connect to Wi-Fi and keep it on until the install finishes.
On the iPhone itself, open My eSIMs in TringPhone and tap Install on iPhone. Settings opens with the plan ready. Tap Continue. This needs iOS 17.4 or later.
From another screen instead, open Settings, then Cellular (Mobile Data in some regions), then Add eSIM, then Use QR Code, and scan the QR code shown in My eSIMs.
When asked, label the new line Travel. Keep your usual number for calls and messages, and choose Travel for cellular data.
When you land
Switch it on
Open Settings, then Cellular, then Travel. Turn on the line and turn on Data Roaming.
In Settings, then Cellular, then Cellular Data, choose Travel.
Turn off Allow Cellular Data Switching on the same screen, so your home line does not use data abroad.
Entering it by hand
The details your phone may ask for.
SM-DP+ address
The server your phone downloads the eSIM from. It is the first part of your code, shown on its own in My eSIMs.
Activation code
The unique code for your eSIM. Some phones take the whole code in one field; others ask for this part separately.
APN
The access point name for data. Most phones set it on their own. Enter it only if you have signal but no internet.
A few things to know
If something is not working.
Have another question? Our support chat is right here.
No signal after landing
Check that the eSIM line is on, that Data Roaming is on for it, and that it is chosen for mobile data. Then turn airplane mode on for ten seconds and off again. If there is still no signal, turn off automatic network selection for the eSIM line and pick one of the networks listed on your plan.
Signal, but no internet
Set the APN shown in My eSIMs. On iPhone it is under Settings, then Cellular, then Travel, then Cellular Data Network. On Android it is under Mobile networks, then Access Point Names.
The install failed or says the code was already used
Each eSIM can be installed once. Do not keep retrying. Message support with the email on your account and we will check the eSIM for you.
Should I delete the eSIM after my trip?
Only once your plan has ended. A deleted eSIM usually cannot be installed again, so keep it until the data or days run out.
Can I still get calls and texts on my usual number?
Yes. Your usual SIM can stay on for calls and texts while the eSIM carries your data. Your home carrier may charge roaming for those, so check their rates before you go.
